Dean’s Office
Standing in front of the entrance to the Dean’s Office, one would be facing two doors – one leading to the Dean’s Office and the other to the Dean’s Staff Room, which used to be the entrance to the Dean’s Office. The Dean’s Staff Room was renovated in 2010 during the term of Dean Marvic Leonen ‘87 through the generosity of the family of Justice Emilio A. Gancayco ‘47.
On top of the door of the Dean’s Office there is the year 1983. This room was renovated by UP Law Class of 1983 when Dean and later UP President Danilo Concepcion ‘83 assumed the office. This area was part of the corridor and was converted to a sitting room by Class of 1983.
This used to be the faculty room of Prof. Araceli Baviera ‘42 and her portrait was painted by Antonio M. Meer ‘50. This painting was presented to Prof. Baviera by UP Law Class of 1984 during their Silver Jubilee celebration at Makati Shangri-la.
Inside the Office of the Dean, we find the the Jose Rizal painting that we see here used to be inside Room 200 also known as Padilla Room. The current Dean is Gwen Grecia De Vera ‘95.
The highlight of this room is this oil painting of George Malcolm which was painted by Fernando Amorsolo in 1951.
