UP Law Class of 2000

We are members of Class 2000 of the College of Law, University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City.

Four Blocks (A, B, C, and E), one Class.

Y2K. The Year 2000. “Y” stands for “Year”, and “K” stands for “Kilo”, which means a “Thousand”.

Members of the UP Law Class of 2000 graduated at the end of the second millennium, ushering in the third millennium. Our batch witnessed the exponential and innovative technological developments that occurred before the end of the millennium, including wireless telecommunications, computers, and the internet.

Despite the uncertainty brought about by the alleged Millennium Bug or Y2K glitch at the turn of the millennium, highlighting possible computer errors (as seen with the “I Love You” virus in May 2000), our batch strove to face the challenges posed by the end of the millennium. Five (5) of our batchmates placed in the top ten of the 2000 Bar Examinations, including Nos. 1, 5, 7, and 10, and our batchmates now serve in various capacities in the private and public sectors.

Our batchmates have formed their own law firms and/or become dependable partners in established law firms, providing competent legal services to private corporations and entities. They have also joined the judicial and executive branches as magistrates, prosecutors, and public defenders, and have served in the national and local governments.
